If there is any news in your group, please write using the Weekly Community News format and send to CCCB Communications in WhatsApp or email to sacredheart@cccbrisbane.org.au by Friday each week. We will filter the information and announce in the Weekly News for you.

 

  1. Main Message: CCCB Outreach – Family Culinary & Karaoke Night

Date/Time: Friday 12th September 2025 at 6:00pm

Venue: 15 Lapis Street, Underwood

Details: We are honoured to receive special support from our 40th anniversary’s major sponsor – ROBAM. ROBAM has generously provided us with a fully equipped kitchen showroom, enabling us to host a Family Cooking and Karaoke Night, a rare and wonderful outreach family activity. Due to venue limitations, we only have 40 seats available—first come, first served. Tickets are now on sale: Adults $20; Youth (ages 12–17) $12. The event will feature a Chinese and Western culinary showcase with tasting and karaoke singing. The usual Friday Community Night will be combined with this outreach event at 15 Lapis Street, Underwood. Get your tickets now! Ticketing: Karen.

  1. Sacred Heart Centre – Safe our environment; Fund our community: Sacred Heart Centre has now being placed three special recycling bins labelled “Containers for Change” (with green and white lids) for group members and visitors to deposit recyclable bottles.You are encouraged to bring recyclable bottles from home that you plan to discard and recycle them at the centre. This not only contributes to our community’s operation but also helps the environment while supporting community funds — a win-win situation. (Please note: do not put regular garbage into these bins.) Our scheme number is C11625886. You can also use this number as your household recycling ID. By collecting and depositing recyclable bottles at the designated Containers for Change centres under this ID, you will also be helping raise funds for our community. Thank you.
  2. Messages from Archdiocese about Annual Catholic Campaign: This Sunday 24th August, our community will support the Annual Catholic Campaign. This special campaign brings together all the parishes of the Archdiocese, to provide care and support for local ministries and people in need in our own communities. Funds raised will support ministries that directly impact this parish.  The Campaign supports training future priests, caring for our elderly and retired priests, giving local families in dire need access to a Catholic education and caring for those suffering physically and emotionally in our community. Please do take a Campaign brochure and giving envelope on coming Sunday with you when you go to mass. You can fill it in on the day and place it in the collection box at front, or scan the QR code on the envelope to make your gift online. Thank you and God bless.
  3. Main Message: Multicultural Mass

Date/Time: Sunday 24th August 2025 at 2:00pm

Venue: Queen of Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church – 54 Flint St, Inala

Details: This year’s Multicultural Mass of the Archdiocese of Brisbane will be held on Sunday, 24th August 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Queen of Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church, hosted by the Vietnamese community (24 Flint St, Inala). The Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Mark Coleridge. After the Mass, there will be cultural performances, children’s games, and various refreshments. This is a special church event, so everyone is encouraged to participate. Traditional costume is welcome on the day.

  1. Holy Hour – Mon to Fri 4-7pm at Sacred Heart Chapel
  2. Oil painting workshop – Everyone is welcome on Monday 10am to 3pm. For details, please contact Irene Wu
  3. Weekday mass – Tuesday to Saturday at 8am.
  4. Choir Practice – Sunday 10am
  5. Cantonese Rosary – 1st Saturday of each month from 3:30pm. Please bring a plate for sharing dinner after the gathering.
  6. Mandarin Rosary – 2nd Saturday of each month from 9:30am.
  7. Sacrament of Reconciliation – 2nd and 4th Sunday from 9:30am to 10:00am.
  8. Community Yum Cha – Community Yum Cha is one of our monthly social gatherings. It aims to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment to meet new friends, share life experiences, and build friendships. Group members are free to sign up and participate. August’s community yum cha will be held on 6th September at 10am at Parkland at Sunnypark Shopping Centre.
  9. Community Night – We welcome all members to come and chat, share snacks, play table tennis, and sing karaoke together. The next community night will be on Friday 19th September 2025 at 7:30pm – 9:30pm.

Main Message: Holy Hour Date/Time: Monday to Friday 4pm – 7pm Venue: Sacred Heart Chapel Details: The Sacred Heart Chapel is open Monday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM for the faithful to come and accompany Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Did you know that Jesus is constantly waiting for you in the Eucharist? Before His Ascension, Jesus told us: “And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20) Please come to spend one hour with Him. If you can commit to a regular weekly time slot to accompany Jesus, please contact Paul Chu to join the Adoration Team and we will arrange the roster for you.
