Announcement: Update on Our Request to Brisbane City Council: Dear brothers and sisters, we are pleased to share some good news regarding our recent petition to Brisbane City Council about improving safety outside the Sacred Heart Centre. The Council has officially approved our request to install No Stopping signs on both sides of the driveway at the Sacred Heart Centre. The approved restriction will cover two car lengths on each side of the driveway, and will be in effect from 9am to 3pm every Sunday. According to the Council, the new parking signage is expected to be installed by the end of December 2025. We sincerely thank all community members who signed the petition and supported this safety initiative. Your participation has helped ensure a safer environment for everyone, especially during our Sunday gatherings. Thank you once again for your support and cooperation. In Christ, from the interim Pastoral Committee of CCCB.

  1. Welcome for your contribution: Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, More than twenty years ago, under the leadership of our founder, Fr. Albert Chan MSC, and through the generous contributions and efforts of many dedicated members, the Chinese Catholic Community Brisbane was able to develop into what we have today — our very own centre, the Sacred Heart Centre. We thank Fr. Chan, our predecessors, and above all, God, for this precious blessing which did not come easily. Today, in order to maintain the various facilities, resources and expenses of our Centre, we continue to rely on the support of our community members. Whether through offering your time or financial support, every contribution helps us share the responsibility of caring for and building up our community. We now wish to inform everyone of the following project, so that all may have the opportunity to take part: (For Bank Transfer Only: BSB: 064786 Account Number:  150210100  Name: Chinese Catholic Community Brisbane; Please indicate the intention in reference) or contact Paul Chu for other arrangements.
    1. Last month, we invited everyone to contribute towards the purchase of a kitchen drinking hot water unit. The fundraising was successfully completed, and the unit was purchased and installed promptly. A total of $1,350 was raised. We sincerely thank the following brothers and sisters for their generous contributions: Rosa Wu; Peter and Rosa Cheung; Michael and Penny Chen; Kitty Cheung; Lini Wang; Angela; and Leona Lau. After we did find a more cost-effective installation option, the total cost came to $967.38, which saved $332.62 compared to the original quoted price. After the installation was completed, the remaining $382.62 will be set aside to cover Sunday after mass lunch expenses.
    2. Sunday After Mass Lunch Contribution: We warmly welcome everyone to stay for a fellowship lunch after Sunday Mass. You are encouraged to bring a dish to share, or contribute $15 each time or $50 per month to cover all Sunday lunches for the month. You may also offer a donation according to your ability to help us prepare more food. Please give your lunch contribution to Mike or using the above bank account for your contribution.
